Tripoli, 11 May 2013:
After the successful participation of last year, a group of 24 Italian companies from the Marche region will take part in the 9th edition of “Libya Build”.Libya Build is slated to be the largest international event in the “new Libya”, specializing in construction, architecture and engineering, furniture and interior decoration, and will take place in Tripoli 19-23 May 2013.
At the Italian pavilion (Hall no. 4), which will consist of 119 companies, the group representing the Marche region will be the largest single Italian regional delegation.
“With a company for every 9 inhabitants the Marche region, located in central Italy and overlooking the Adriatic coast, has a dynamic industrial sector”, said Umberto Bonito of 3B Expo & Consulting, organizer of the Marche delegation.
The Marche delegation will consist of “a concentration of small and medium-sized enterprises, strongly “export-oriented”, with a wide range of specialization in the traditional sectors of the “Made in Italy” range, such as mechanics, building, wood and furniture, etc, and with a long history of trade relations with Libya”, added Bonito.
Whilst other international business delegations and conferences seeking meetings with officials have recently postponed visits to Libya, the Marche delegation seeks B2B contacts.
“Given the recent approval by the Libyan Government of more than 600 contracts for reconstruction works, Italian companies have responded positively to the signals coming from Libyan contractors, and they see that participation in the Libya Build fair is the best way to introduce themselves and seek Libyan partners in order to enable themselves an opportunity to some of the awarded contracts on time”.
The companies that make up the delegation from Marche region are for the most part specialized in the building and construction industry, in all its phases. In particular, Cacciamani, Centraltubi, Faggiolati Pumps, Lorev Impianti, Mait, Protecno and Schnell, are among the leading Italian companies for technologies, plants and machinery for construction.
Casali and Teknowool Adriatico produce solutions and waterproofing and insulating materials. Industrie Pica and Mattoli are the oldest Italian companies in the processing of stones and other materials for floors and wall coverings.
Di.Bi Porte Blindate and Enzo Reschini manufacture security doors and windows. Mondi is an international manufacturer of paper bags for cement and other building materials. Messersì supplies a complete range of packaging material and equipment.
However, Bonito explains that “the export boom achieved in 2012 specifically from the Marche region to Libya was mainly in the furniture sector which grew by a staggering 600% – from 4 to 27 million euros”.
In response to these opportunities, the delegation includes Alluminia and Fuligna & Sensoli, producers of semi-finished products and metal workings for the furniture industry, Former In and Mobilpiù, manufacturers of upholstered furniture and furnishings, and visiting Libya Build for the second time. RTL Mobili and Babini, are manufacturers respectively of home and office furniture.
In addition, there are 2 engineering studios, Biba and Antonucci Leoni and Garage 1, a company involved in the sale of used parts, engines and gears for cars, trucks and jeep.
This initiative is part of the 2013 Promotional Program and is financed by Marche Region and Unioncamere (the Regional Union of Chambers of Commerce) (Marchet, Exit, Aspin2000). Marchet, in particular, coordinates the participation of companies to “Libya Build 2013”, together with Confindustria Marche, the Regional Federation of Industries, which will support participating companies with the organization of the trip and other promotional side events during the fair.
